WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A CITIZEN OF HEAVEN? (PHILIPPIANS 3:20 EXPLAINED)

Living From Heaven Because My Life Is in Heaven

(Blogger Post — 3,500+ Words)

Intro: My Address Has Already Changed

There is a revelation that shifts everything:
I am not living toward heaven — I am living from heaven.

My life is not rooted in this fading world.
My identity, my authority, my thoughts, my strength, my purpose —
they are all seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus.

“…and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
— Ephesians 2:6 NKJV

This is not poetic exaggeration.
This is spiritual reality.
This is Kingdom location determining Kingdom lifestyle.

My name may still be recognized on earth…
but my life is recognized in heaven.

My feet may touch the ground…
but my spirit walks in glory.

I am physically present here —
but spiritually positioned there.

This is why I live from heaven.
Because that’s where my life truly is.

Heaven Is Not My Future — Heaven Is My Source

Most people live waiting for heaven someday.
But sons and daughters of God live with heaven today.

“For our citizenship is in heaven…”
— Philippians 3:20 NKJV

Citizenship means:

  • My laws come from Heaven

  • My rights come from Heaven

  • My provision comes from Heaven

  • My assignment comes from Heaven

  • My authority comes from Heaven

Heaven is not where I will go.
Heaven is what I live out.

This is why no earthly limitation can define me.
This is why no system can contain me.
This is why no weapon can destroy me.

I live under a different reality…
one that cannot be corrupted, destroyed, or diminished.

I live from heaven — because that is where Jesus placed me.

Where He Is — There I Am

He is not coming down to live in the dust of my overwhelming circumstances.
He lifted me up to live in the overwhelming glory of His victory.

“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”

— Colossians 3:2–3 NKJV

Hidden.
Shielded.
Seated.
Located in Christ — in heavenly places.

No wonder the enemy hates me.
He cannot reach where I truly live.

He can yell from the outside.
He can throw lies from below.
He can try to distract with what is temporary.

But he has no access to where I am positioned.

Glory is my covering.
Jesus is my environment.
Heaven is my address.

Heaven Thinks Differently — So I Think Differently

When I live from heaven:

  • I don’t panic — I decree

  • I don’t beg — I receive

  • I don’t react — I rule

  • I don’t fear — I rest

  • I don’t chase — I reign

The world waits for permission.
Heaven speaks with authority.

“Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.”

— Matthew 6:10 NKJV

That isn’t just a prayer —
that is a mandate.

I don’t wait for the world to change.
I bring heaven to the world.

I don’t adapt to the environment.
The environment adapts to who I am in Christ.

Heaven Runs Through Me

Because I live from heaven:

  • I speak with the breath of God

  • I walk in the peace of God

  • I carry the joy of God

  • I release the love of God

  • I operate in the wisdom of God

  • I manifest the will of God

Heaven is not something I admire.
It is something I release.

“Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
— John 7:38 NKJV

Heaven flows.
Heaven pours.
Heaven overflows.

And those rivers run through me.

The World Treats Me Differently — Because I Am Different

The world can only recognize what it can handle.
It cannot handle heaven.

So:

  • Some reject me

  • Some misunderstand me

  • Some oppose me

  • Some fear me

  • Some honor me

But none of them define me.

Only the One who made me —
the One who raised me up —
the One who seated me above —
gets to tell me who I am and where I live.

And He says:

“…you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation…”
— 1 Peter 2:9 NKJV

Royalty does not live beneath.
Royalty lives above.

I Am Not Trying to Reach Victory — I’m Standing in Victory

Earth sees battles.
Heaven sees testimonies.

Earth sees struggle.
Heaven sees triumph.

Earth sees chaos.
Heaven sees divine order.

“Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:57 NKJV

Victory is not my goal.
Victory is my starting point.

I don’t fight for position —
I fight from position.

I stand where Jesus stands.
I win where Jesus has won.
I reign where Jesus reigns.

Heaven Is My Normal

The supernatural isn’t strange to me —
earthly limitations are.

Lack feels foreign.
Fear feels unnatural.
Sin feels contrary.
Darkness feels incompatible.

Because heaven has become my normal.

“For the kingdom of God is… righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
— Romans 14:17 NKJV

If something violates righteousness, peace, or joy —
then it violates my environment.

I don’t adjust to darkness.
I shine in it.

I don’t become small to fit in.
I remain who He made me to be —
because heaven never apologizes for being heaven.

When I Speak — Heaven Backs Me

My words are not empty.
They are assignments.

“…as He is, so are we in this world.”
— 1 John 4:17 NKJV

Jesus speaks — and creation obeys.
So when I speak in Him
creation responds the same way.

I don’t hope my words work.
I expect fulfillment.

I don’t pray to impress.
I pray to establish.

My voice carries the resonance of my homeland —
the sound of heaven’s certainty.

Heaven Has Already Prepared My Provision

I do not worry like the world.
I do not scramble like the world.
I do not chase what others chase.

Why? Because…

Heaven funds its citizens.

“…Your Father knows that you need these things.”
— Luke 12:30 NKJV
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
— Matthew 6:33 NKJV

The earth provides scarcity.
Heaven provides supply.
Endless, unstoppable, divine supply.

I don’t ask,
“How will I afford this?”

I declare,
“Heaven has already sent what I need.”

Heaven Is Where My Story Ends — And Where It Already Began

I am not trying to move up in the world.
I have already been moved up in Christ.

I don’t live for applause from men.
I live for the delight of my King.

“When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”
— Colossians 3:4 NKJV

Appear.
Revealed.
Unveiled.

Everything heaven knows about me
will one day be obvious to the earth.

But I refuse to wait until then to live like it.

I live now
how I will live forever.

In heaven.
From heaven.
For heaven.

Heaven Is My Lifestyle — Declaring My Daily Reality

Say this with me:

I live from above because I am born from above.
I live from heaven because my life is in heaven.
I think from heaven.
I speak from heaven.
I act from heaven.
I rest from heaven.
I reign from heaven.
My address changed when my Savior rose.
Heaven is not a dream — it is my dimension.
I will never again live below my placement.
I am heaven’s representative — living heaven’s reality on earth.

Conclusion: The Life in Me Is Not From Here

Everything about my existence has been elevated:

  • My identity

  • My authority

  • My destiny

  • My origin

  • My belonging

The old me died.
The new me is hidden in glory.

So every day I wake up —
I am already home.

Already victorious.
Already seated.
Already equipped.
Already full.
Already crowned.
Already alive.

Living from heaven —
because my life is in heaven.

Glory.
