WHAT DOES "COME UP HERE" MEAN IN THE BIBLE? (SPIRITUAL MEANING EXPLAINED)

Come Up Here: Walking in the Seat Heaven Has Placed You In

There is a place in the Spirit where insults, judgments, and lies have no power. It is not found in arguments, it is not found in defending yourself, and it is not found in the chaos of earthly emotion. It is found in the heavenly seat that the Lord Himself has positioned you in.

Many times in life, we are tempted to turn around when someone throws words at us—words meant to wound, belittle, or provoke. “You should defend yourself,” the world says. “You can’t let them get away with that,” the enemy whispers. But here is the truth that the Spirit has been speaking to my heart: heaven is not moved by insults, and neither should we be.

When someone attacks you, when they speak against your character, when they attempt to shake your peace—this is the flesh trying to distract you from the seat God has prepared for you. Turning back to defend yourself is not strength; it is stepping down from your throne. It is taking a million steps backward.

The Lord says: “Come up here!!”

Not in words only, but in spirit, He is calling us to ascend into the place where He reigns, where His Kingdom perspective reigns, and where the lies of the enemy cannot follow.

Flesh Cannot Be Defended

The world tells us to fight fire with fire, to throw words back, to argue our case. But the flesh is not in heaven. Flesh cannot be defended because it has no authority in the realm of the Spirit.

The insults were thrown at the flesh, but you are seated in the Spirit, in Christ, far above the reach of every insult. Your identity is already established. The enemy can only attempt to wound something that exists in the temporal, but your eternal position in Christ is untouchable.

Ephesians 2:6 reminds us:

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

This is not just a spiritual metaphor. This is a literal reality in the Spirit. To defend yourself from an earthly insult is to step down from the position Christ has placed you in. To argue, to justify, to explain—this is walking backward into the noise that the Lord wants you above.

The enemy wants us engaged in fleshly reactions. He wants us to look, to respond, to get tangled in words that have no weight in heaven. But the Spirit says:

“Keep walking to your seat. Keep ascending. Do not look back.”

The Power of Not Responding

There is incredible power in choosing silence over retaliation. Choosing to lift up the Name of the Lord instead of defending your own name is a declaration of spiritual maturity and faith.

Psalm 20:7 says:

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”

When someone insults you, it is easy to feel the tug of human pride: “I have to defend myself. I cannot let them speak against me like this.” But pride is not your defense—Jesus is your defense.

To defend yourself is to trust in your own strength, your own reasoning, your own perception of truth. But when you lift up the Lord’s Name, you are declaring that your life, your peace, your identity, and your story are not dependent on your ability to fight. They are dependent on the Almighty God, the King of kings and Lord of lords, the I AM.

And when you trust in Him, the enemy loses every foothold.

Heaven’s Perspective on Insults

No one in heaven is upset about an insult from the enemy. Not a single angel is gathering to discuss the foolishness of someone’s tongue. The spiritual realm does not operate the way the natural realm does.

God’s Kingdom perspective is eternal, unshakable, and immovable. When an insult comes your way, heaven sees the truth of your identity, not the lie of the insult. The Spirit reminds us:

“You are My child. You are seated with Me. I know who you are. Do not be moved by what the flesh says.”

The enemy wants you looking down, wants you looking back, wants you stepping off the mountain. But you are called to look up.

Isaiah 40:31 says:

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Mounting up is not a passive activity. It is a conscious decision to remain in your seat, above the attack, above the insult, above the flesh.

Magnifying Jesus as Your Defense

You don’t need to defend yourself. You don’t need to explain. You don’t need to fight. You simply magnify Jesus, the One who has already defended you, the One whose Name is above every name, the One who is your refuge and fortress.

Psalm 18:2 says:

“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”

Every insult thrown at you, every false accusation, every whisper of the enemy collapses under the weight of His Name. To lift Jesus is to step fully into your heavenly authority. To lift Jesus is to walk past the noise of the world and the attacks of the enemy.

When you choose not to defend yourself, you are not passive—you are powerful. You are choosing kingdom response over fleshly reaction, and that is true dominion.

Walking to Your Seat

Every insult, every provocation, every attempt to shake your peace is a call from heaven: “Come up here.”

Do not step down to meet the flesh on its level. Do not argue. Do not justify. Do not retaliate.

Instead, walk to your seat. Keep moving upward, toward the place where God has positioned you, where His peace reigns, where His presence overshadows every lie and accusation.

Luke 10:19 reminds us:

“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”

Walking to your seat is an act of authority. It is saying, “I am seated with the King. I am not moved by your words. I am positioned in the Spirit.”

Every step toward your seat is a declaration of trust. Every step is a declaration of obedience. Every step is a declaration that you believe who God says you are more than what anyone says about you.

The Seat is Not Negotiable

The seat God has given you is not dependent on anyone’s opinion, anyone’s approval, or anyone’s recognition. It is established in heaven, secured in the blood of Jesus, and sealed by the Spirit.

To walk back to the fight is to say, “I do not trust God’s placement of me.” But when you remain seated, you declare that heaven is higher than earth, Spirit over flesh, eternal over temporal.

Hebrews 12:2 says:

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Notice that Jesus despised the shame, He did not engage with it, He did not argue or defend Himself. And He remained seated at the right hand of the throne.

This is the model for us. This is the posture of authority. This is rest in the Spirit.

Elevation Over Retaliation

The enemy wants us entangled in fleshly reactions. He wants us responding, defending, proving ourselves. But every time you turn back, you step out of your throne. Every time you justify yourself, you lower your authority. Every time you engage the flesh, you give it oxygen.

But when you stay seated, when you magnify the Name of the Lord, when you choose heaven’s perspective, something supernatural happens:

  • Lies lose power.

  • Words fail to wound.

  • Peace remains unbroken.

  • Authority is displayed.

Philippians 3:14 says:

“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Every insult is an invitation to press upward. Not backward, not sideways, not down. But upward. To your seat. To your elevation. To your position in the Spirit.

Your Silence is Dominion

When you choose not to defend yourself, you are not weak—you are dominant. You are showing the enemy that his words do not define you. You are showing the world that your identity is not dependent on human validation. You are showing heaven that you understand the power of your placement in Christ.

James 1:19-20 says:

“Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”

Silence is not surrender. Silence is kingdom strategy. Silence is spiritual authority. Silence is the weapon of one seated in heaven.

The Invitation: Come Up Here

The Lord is calling us today: “Come up here!!”

  • Come up above the noise.

  • Come up above the insults.

  • Come up above the lies.

  • Come up to your seat in Christ.

Do not turn back. Do not argue. Do not explain. Ascend. Magnify. Walk to your seat.

Every insult becomes fuel for your ascension, every provocation becomes a reminder of the throne you are seated on. You are not in the battlefield—you are over it. You are not in the fire—you are above it. You are not on the ground—you are in the heavens.

Conclusion: Keep Walking, Keep Seated, Keep Lifting Him

The world may call you passive for not defending yourself. The enemy may mock your silence. But heaven knows the truth: you are seated, you are elevated, and you are powerful.

You don’t defend yourself.
You don’t fight the flesh.
You don’t get distracted by the enemy’s lies.

You keep walking to your seat.
You keep magnifying the Name of Jesus.
You stay seated in the place the Lord has positioned you in.

And from that seat, you reign.

So the next time an insult comes your way, remember:

  • Flesh cannot be defended.

  • Heaven is not moved by insults.

  • Your seat is secure.

  • Your peace is untouchable.

  • Your authority is undeniable.

Keep walking, my son, Keep walking my daughter
Come up here.
Stay seated.
Lift His Name.

The world may not understand it. The enemy may not like it. But heaven knows it.
And your seat in Christ is eternal, unshakable, and gloriously victorious.

If this blessed you, share it. You never know who is fighting a silent battle and needs to hear: "Come up here. Stay in your seat."

GLORY!
