WHY PRIDE IS DANGEROUS ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE (BIBLICAL WARNING)

"God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble."                            💟💜💫💫
---James 4:6 (NKJV)

Pride is one of the most destructive forces in

existence. And Jesus hates it--not because

He is harsh or angry--but because He is holy,

loving, and just. Everything that pride is......
                                                                                                     ðŸ’–💫💞
Jesus is not. And everything that Jesus is.....

pride opposes.

The Lord Jesus is deeply familiar with the root

of pride. He saw what it did to heaven when

Lucifer rebelled. He sees what it continues to

do on the earth--how it blinds people, breaks

relationships, ruins destinies, and steals glory

from the only One who is worthy. Jesus hates

pride because He loves us. Pride stands in the

way of everything Jesus died to give us:

relationship, redemption, and rest.

1. Pride is the opposite of His heart

Jesus is humble. This is not just a trait -- it's who

He is.

"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will
find rest for your souls."
             --Matthew 11:29 (NKJV)

When Jesus invites us to learn from Him, He

doesn't begin with power or dominion-- He

begins with gentleness and humility. He knows

that a proud heart cannot follow. He leads by example,

showing us that humility is the way of the Kingdom.

When a heart is full of pride, it refuses to yield. It seeks its

own way. It tries to earn glory without God. It says, "I don't need help."

But Jesus says, "Without Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5). The proud

heart refuses to accept that. So Jesus must oppose it - not

because He doesn't love the proud, but because He must stand

against what separates people from His love.

2. Pride started the first rebellion

Jesus saw it firsthand: pride caused Satan's fall.

"Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty;
You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your
splendor,,,"
                   -Ezekiel 28:17 (NKJV)

Lucifer was beautiful, but instead of worshipping the One

who made him, he wanted to be worshipped. He was created

to reflect God's glory - but he tried to claim it for himself.

That is pride in its purest form: self-glory.

Jesus watched heaven divide. He watched pride tear apart what was once whole.

He witnessed the moment when love was replaced by arrogance. From that rebellion

came the entire fall of man, and the beginning of death, sin, and separation.

No wonder Jesus hates pride. He was there at the beginning, and He knows exactly

where it leads.

3. Pride Blinds the Soul

The proud cannot see. That's what makes pride so dangerous. It blinds.

"Because you say, 'I am rich, have become
wealthy, and have need of nothing'- and do
not know that you are wretched, miserable,
poor, blind, and naked..."
                 -Revelation 3:17 (NKJV)

Jesus spoke these words to a church. Not to

the world. Pride had deceived them into

thinking they had it all together. They didn't

realize how far they had fallen.

Pride doesn't just block sight - it blocks

repentance. A proud heart doesn't think it

needs to change. It resists conviction.

It argues with truth. It says, "That's for someone

else. I'm fine." And because Jesus

loves us too much to leave us in blindness, He

confronts the pride head-on.

4. Pride Leads to Destruction

"Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall."
          -Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV)

Jesus came to save us, not to watch us fall.

But pride builds a ladder we weren't meant to

climb - one made of ego, control, and

self - righteousness. The higher it climbs, the

harder the fall.

Pride destroys marriages. It tears apart families.

ruins ministries. It keeps people from asking for

help until it's too late. And worst of all - it keeps

souls from bowing to the One who came to save them.

Jesus, in His mercy, will shake what needs to be shaken

to save what needs to be saved. If that means exposing

the pride before it destroys the person, He will. His hate

for pride is born out of His love for people.

5. Pride competes with God's glory

"I am the Lord, that is My name;
And My glory I will not give to another...."
       -Isaiah 42:8 (NKJV)

Glory belongs to God alone. Yet pride tries to

wear it like a crown.

When people promote themselves above God, take credit

for His work, or lead others into worship of self - they are walking

in the spirit of pride. Jesus came to glorify the Father, not Himself.

He said:

"I do not seek My own glory; there is One
who seeks and judges."
      -John 8:50 (NKJV)

Pride seeks the praise of man. Humility seeks the smile of God.

When Jesus walked the earth, He walked with complete dependence

on the Father. The proud heart wants to be independent from God.

But Jesus showed us the only true way to live is fully dependent on

the Lord.

6. Pride keeps people from entering the Kingdom

"Unless you are converted and become as
little children, you will by no means enter the
kingdom of heaven."
                  -Matthew 18:3 (NKJV)

The Kingdom of God is for the humble - the ones

who know they can't make it without Him.

The proud heart says, "I'm good enough on my

own."

The humble heart says, "I need You, Lord."

Pride tells people they're too smart to believe

in Jesus, too strong to need saving, too righteous

to repent. But Jesus said it clearly -

unless we become like children - dependent,

trusting, lowly - we will miss the very Kingdom

He came to give us.

Final Thoughts: Jesus is King of the Humble

The King of Glory wore a crown of thorns. He rode in

on a donkey. He washed feet. He died in silence. And even now,

He knocks on hearts and waits for them to open.

Why does Jesus hate pride?

Because He sees how it closes the door to His love.

Because it separates the soul from truth.

Because it blocks His grace and embraces the enemy's lies.

Jesus hates pride not because He hates people- but because He desires

to see them free, whole, and restored. Pride cannot coexist with humility.

And where pride lives, Jesus cannot reign.

But the good news? He gives more grace.

Grace to the humble. Grace to those who bow

low. Grace to the ones who say, "Lord, I don't

want anything that keeps me from You."

Let's be that heart today.

A Prayer to Close:

Lord Jesus, remove every root of pride from

my life. Search me and show me anything that

tries to exalt itself above You. I don't want

self-glory. I want Your glory. I humble myself

before You. Let Your grace flow through

every area of my heart. I choose Your Way - lowly,

humble, true. Keep me close to You. I bow before You,

my King. In Jesus' Mighty Name, Glory.
